Laboratory Services has two operational units, housed in three locations, that work together to provide comprehensive services to our broad array of clients.  Our laboratories are equipped and staffed to address the existing and emerging issues in each field.

  • The Animal Health Laboratory (AHL) specializes in determining the health of livestock, poultry, horses, fish, bees and pets through a wide array of tests, and in turn provides disease surveillance data for the province of Ontario.

  • The Agriculture and Food Laboratory (AFL) offers a variety of services ranging from: microbiological testing, agrochemical testing, DNA methods, identification of food contaminants, allergen testing, method development and tests for residues from drugs, pesticides, plant, soil and water.
